It's been a month of victory and defeat.  We have thoroughly learned that you can not win every battle.  Not  everyday was a ray of sunshine for us and yet we had to take it in all at   once.  For example, dorm life, college courses, just being college students at such young ages.  The pressure of   being away from home was immense and yet we all knew we had to  survive.  We were faced with issues such as adultism, sexism, and racism to say the least. Every person in this program has lost and gained a piece of their personalities.  Hopefully what we have all shed is insecurity and prejudice for each other and ourselves. A new light has shone upon us all and as a result the majority, if not all, of us  have opened our eyes and our hearts to courage, confidence, and  individuality.
