Hawaii Island Akamai Observatory Short Course

June 1 - 6, 2008, Hawaii Island, Hawaii

The Center for Adaptive Optics, along with Hawaii Island observatories, organized the Akamai Hawaii Island Observatory Internship Program. The program provides opportunities at various sites over the summer, with additional activities that will provide support and opportunities during the academic year. The interns will start with a 5-day short-course in general optical principles and adaptive optics. This is a multi-disciplinary course for undergraduate students who are interested in learning more about what goes on in an observatory setting.
