Adjoining meeting to AO4ELT4:

The Center for Adaptive Optics (CfAO) Fall Science Retreat provides a forum for researchers in the adaptive optics field to share current results and plan future collaborations.

The process of forming the agenda will be driven by your input. When you register, you will have an opportunity to suggest––and possibly lead––a topical session that you would like to see on the agenda, to sign up to give a talk, and/or to sign up to bring a poster. Below is a preliminary list of topics. We strongly welcome suggestions for additional or more specific topical areas you would like to see at the retreat. If you have an idea now, please e-mail Don Gavel at gavel@ucolick.org.

  • Astronomical science with AO: Solar System, Exoplanets, Galactic, Extragalactic
  • AO systems and science for Solar Astronomy
  • Image processing & post-processing for astronomical science
  • Photometry and astrometry with AO
  • Adaptive Optics applied to Biology: Imaging of the retina of the eye
  • Adaptive Optics applied to biological microscopy: deep-tissue imaging
  • Educational outreach programs
  • AO internship and professional development activities
